Getting an Free Online Education

Did you know that you can get a college education for free? It’s true. While the average college student is paying 35,720 dollars per year and still making loan payments 20 years down the road, you can become an expert in your field of study with a free online education.

Let’s face it, education is changing. We now live in a society where information is at our fingertips all the time. Online resources directly from universities and other educational sites are available to anyone and everyone who wants to learn, which is one reason why 81% of Americans believe that education is shifting from universities to autodidacticism, meaning people are increasingly self-taught.

It makes sense that the popularity of college degrees is on the decline. College costs far too much. Between the cost of the degree itself and the cost of lost income while earning the degree, a bachelor’s degree can easily total 400,000 dollars. Students are also subject to housing insecurity with 56% being housing insecure each year. Seventeen percent  have been homeless within the last year and military students are the most vulnerable to homelessness.

Paying through the nose to become educated just doesn’t make as much sense as it used to now that education is available everywhere we turn. It’s important to make a plan of action and stay the course, but we are fortunate enough to live in a day when education belongs to the people.
